One of my favorite one-liners/quotes from my teenage days has absolutely no spiritual significance. But, it makes me laugh, especially when I picture the way Anthony Michael Hall said it. In Weird Science, he says:

“Chicks can’t hold the smoke in. That’s what it IS! (Emphasis on IS)

I’m laughing right now.

One of my favorite lines is from Mark Batterson:

“If we were to truly act in our own self-interest, we would always obey God.”

One we use around our home often is “Divided focus paralyzes”. Enjoy your week!

My wife and I were merging onto a freeway where construction was going on and she was driving because for some reason it made her nervous when I drove. Because of the construction there were barriers that narrowed the left lane of the freeway into the right lane just as the merge lane joined the freeway. I was trying to keep an eye out in the passenger side rearview mirror for cars coming on behind us as well as watching cars approaching our merge lane by way of the right lane of the freeway. Have you ever noticed what is says on the passenger side rearview mirror? Anyway, I saw a schoolbus that had been painted blue all over approaching us very quickly in the right lane. I suddenly realized that it was going to stay in that lane and catch up to us at about the same time the merge lane joined the right lane of freeway traffic. So you pick which one liner you like best. The one on the passenger side mirror, or what I stuttered to my wife just before the bus grazed the driver’s side of our car as it passed us, taking off the driver side rearview mirror and plowing blue paint into the side of our car:
“buh buh BIG BLUE BUS! BIG BLUE BUS!”
or
OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR

One of my favorite one-liners is:

“Love, peace and hair grease!”

It’s what I use to say goodby over the phone. Call me and I’ll prove it.

The Jerry Maguire quote “You had me at hello.” Sounds like the father of the prodigal son. Here the son practices his speech on his way home and his dad simply welcomes him back. You had me at hello.

“Do what others won’t do now, so you can do what others can’t do later” – my father

I too, was looking so forward to this time… meeting other pastor’s wives, learning, worshiping,… then Tobin got the chicken pox! Looks like now, I will only hear all about it from Tony. Have fun Scott!
